This year sees us present a very family friendly, interactive, online gathering featuring a modern take on an old Europeon tradition. It's called a Christmas Putz Service and we hope you will join us for this unique and fun mix of the Christmas Story, great music and community fellowship!

We are looking for people/families to create or 'be' one of the characters in the Christmas Story. Last year we were able to bring our 'creations' to the church on Christmas Eve however this year you may 'bring' your character to our zoom gathering!

If you'd like you or your family to participate, please email Karen at glenmorris.uc@gmail.com by Friday, December 11th. Your name will be entered into a draw to find out your character and you will be notified on Saturday, December 12th. If you would like your contribution to be included in the final scene in the stable, please submit your photo by Sunday, December 20, at noon.

For those of you who might have missed out on this initial invitation, please feel free to celebrate the Christmas story with us by simply attending or suprise us on Christmas Eve by choosing your own part of the Christmas story to create.

What is a Christmas Putz?

A Putz is an old Eastern European tradition of sharing the Christmas Story. On Christmas Eve, all the families of the village would gather in the town square. Pre-assigned in secret, each family would have made a nativity character. When their character was mentioned in the re-telling of the story, the family placed their hand-crafted piece into the nativity. The surprise of size and what each character is made of, is apropos for a night of Spirit-filled wonder.
