To all Members, Adherents and Visitors to Glen Morris United Church:
I am writing this letter to let you know the Official Board of our church held a virtual e-meeting on Wednesday to review the restrictions imposed on church worship and gatherings.
It was unanimously agreed that, in light of the State of Emergency declared by the Province of Ontario, Glen Morris United Church will extend the present restrictions for the foreseeable future. This means there will be no public worship; no Official Board nor committee meetings; no community events on the premises; and no church affiliated social events. These restrictions will be reviewed again when the Provincial State of Emergency is lifted. The Official Board will meet at that time to determine a date when the church can re-open. The Faith Formation Committee has decided that our first regular church service upon re-opening will be a deferred Easter celebration with Communion. We can certainly look forward to this occasion when we rejoice together and greet each other with “Hallelujah”.
I wish to very sincerely thank Michiko Bown-Kai on behalf of all members of the congregation for such committed Ministry to our church under these exceptional circumstances.
I also wish to extend grateful thanks on your behalf to our Treasurer John Graham. He has worked tirelessly over the past weeks to manage our church finances and offer ways for financial stewardship. His report and commentary are in separate post under news and I commend these to your attention.
Be assured, the Official Board will keep you informed of any further developments as they occur.
Yours in Faith
Dr. Robert Williams
Chair, Official Board.
