Save to your Calendar

The Outreach and Social Justice Committee is organizing a Reverse Advent Calendar for 2022! This means that instead of receiving a gift for 24 days, you will give a gift each day from November 17th - December 11th and the gifts will be donated to the Paris Food Bank. The “gifts” - non-perishables food items - will be saved in a box/bag at home until they are brought to Glen Morris United Church no later than December 18th so that they can be delivered to the Food Bank on December 19th. If you can not donate each day, do as many days as you are able to. Not only is this a fun thing for the whole family to do together, from creating the advent calendar structure itself to picking the goodies to go in it, it more importantly teaches everyone the importance of helping others and seeing the bigger picture at Christmas. Below is a list of most needed foods suggested by the Paris Food Bank:
* Cereal (cold & oatmeal)
* Hygiene items (shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.)
* Toilet paper, laundry detergent
* Canned beans (red, bean medley, etc.)
* Peanut free school snacks (apple sauce, fruit cups, nut free granola bars,puddings,       etc.)
* Jam, peanut butter
* Pancake mix, syrup
* Canned meats
* Canned pasta (zoodles, mini ravioli, etc.)
* Rice/sidekicks/Mr. Noodles
* Juice, juice boxes
* Canned vegetables (green beans, corn, etc.)
