With spring just around the corner, many are already thinking about getting back into our gardens and enjoying a little more time outdoors. Earth Week next month offers the perfect opportunity to do both, while helping our community grow a little greener at the same time.
The 11th Annual County of Brant Community Tree Plant is coming up, and this year organizers are hoping to reach an ambitious goal: planting 1,000 trees in just one morning on Saturday, April 18, 2026, 10:00am-1:00pm at Rising Park, Glen Morris (5 Brook Street), and all ages are welcome!
There’s nothing quite like getting your hands a little dirty for a great cause. Every tree planted helps clean our air, create habitat for wildlife, and make our community greener and more beautiful for generations to come. Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or simply enjoy being outdoors, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference — one shovel at a time. No registration is required, so participants can simply drop in and lend a hand. A warm lunch will be provided for volunteers.
Those planning to take part are encouraged to bring a shovel, gloves, closed-toe footwear, and rain gear just in case the weather decides to keep things interesting. Let’s put down some ‘roots’ in our community and make this Earth Week one to remember.
The County of Brant thanks the Glen Morris Horticultural Society, Glen Morris Lions Club, Grand River Conservation Authority, Brant Waterways Foundation, and the Brant Tree Coalition for their time, support, and dedication in making this event possible.
