The church operating account expenses are on track at 53% of the approved budget. However, the revenue is not keeping pace as it is only at 40% of the budget. A lag in revenue is typical for the early part of the year, but this year, the gap is more than in previous years. The church is finally back to a normal year with a full time minister and without additional government pandemic funding or WOW Region salary assistance. Members of the congregation are encouraged to review their offerings which support the ongoing life and work of the church through the summer months and throughout the remainder of the year. Regular givings or participation in the United Church PAR program is encouraged. To enroll in the Pre-Authorized Remittance monthly donation program, contact John Graham at jgraham1215@rogers.com.

The church capital account includes the renovation funds which are for repayment of the mortgage used to build the addition. The mortgage payments are $16,550 per annum and 47% of this amount has been raised to date. The remaining mortgage balance is $167,000. Continued renovation donations are important for the church to meet its commitment. Special leaves or rocks dedicated to family members for the Vision Tree  can be purchased to support the renovation fund.

The new project for 2023 is the Ministerial Accessibility Project (MAP) to make the manse accessible with a front landscaped ramp and a fully accessible downstairs washroom and laundry room. A Federal Government grant has been received for 80% of the cost with the church to provide the remaining 20%. Donations or fundraising towards this project is urged.

Donations can be made by E-Transfer to gmucdonations@gmail.com. The message line can be used to assign the donation. Donations can also be made here or mailed to Glen Morris United Church, 453 East River Road, Glen Morris ON, N0B 1W0.

With much appreciation,
