A beautiful Sunday evening saw this community come together for what has become an annual event with the Glen Morris Community BBQ. Although it was cancelled for two years due to the pandemic, the biggest crowd to date turned out on August 14 to enjoy free sausage on a bun, burgers, and hotdogs provided by the Lions Club and salads, desserts and beverages provided by the Horticulture Society.

But this was the first time Glen Morris United Church supported the event and we thank our Faith Formation Team of Deb Fraser, Janice Little, Lynn McRuer, Sue Harkness, Jennifer Westbrook and Rick Totten and our new minister Rev. Michiko Bown-Kai! Several activities for all ages were organized including the big hit 'The Kindness Rock Project' where all were encouraged to paint a rock, then place it somewhere in Glen Morris, take a photo and post on the Glen Morris Community Connections facebook page. We also supported by providing the sound system which was needed for the beautiful voice and guitar playing of Claire Theissen, daughter of Glen residents Wendy Edema and Mike Theissen.

A fabulous time was had by all!
