Dear beloved Passing the Peace Readers,

Peace be with you.

We can't take these words for granted this week as the horrors of war in Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, and Iran have escalated even further.

This week as I was talking to a friend about faith and what it means to answer a call from a justice-seeking loving God we were struck with an interesting truth:

We are called to love each other, to remember we belong to each other because without remembering this we cannot survive. Our collective well-being is dependent on ensuring that we build a world where no one is disposable. We cannot do this alone.

Also

We are called to love each other because if we don't, then we aren't really living. A life with Christ, the one we are baptized into through a death of our old lives and a resurrection into a self-emptying love - is the fullness of life that is possible when we take care of each other.

There are a million paths to walk to build peace in your heart, home, and the world - wherever you wander or journey this week may you carry the Peace of Christ with you.

So let us choose life.

Let us choose peace.

Yours in Christ,

Rev Michiko
