Dear Glen Morris United Church Family and Friends,

I could not keep up with my Advent calendar this year! The month has gone by quickly and next Wednesday evening I am so delighted that we will be welcoming the season of Christmas with our Christmas Eve service (630 pm!). Whether you are travelling to be with loved ones, joining us online or in-person, I hope that you have safe, healthy, and happy celebrations.

This Advent, we have approached the story of Jesus’ arrival with the question: “What do you fear? Insisting on Hope this Advent.” While talking about fear might feel like an unconventional theme for a story about the arrival of Good News, it has been helpful for us to remember that just like this beloved ancient story, still today - God’s work in the world is a calling that requires courage, support, and community.

This Christmas Eve, I hope you will be able to join us as we proclaim hope is louder than fear!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas - may peace, hope, joy, and love fill your hearts and your homes as we celebrate the birth of Christ!

Yours in Christ,

Rev Michiko
