Dear Glen Morris United Church Family and Friends,
I could not keep up with my Advent calendar this year! The month has gone by quickly and next Wednesday evening I am so delighted that we will be welcoming the season of Christmas with our Christmas Eve service (6:00pm - special music followed by the service at 6:30pm!). Whether you are travelling to be with loved ones, joining us online or in-person, I hope that you have safe, healthy, and happy celebrations.
This Advent, we have approached the story of Jesus’ arrival with the question: “What do you fear? Insisting on Hope this Advent.” While talking about fear might feel like an unconventional theme for a story about the arrival of Good News, it has been helpful for us to remember that just like this beloved ancient story, still today - God’s work in the world is a calling that requires courage, support, and community.
This Christmas Eve, I hope you will be able to join us as we proclaim hope is louder than fear!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas - may peace, hope, joy, and love fill your hearts and your homes as we celebrate the birth of Christ!
Yours in Christ,
Rev Michiko
