Dear Glen Morris United Church members & friends,

May the peace of Christ be with you as we prepare to celebrate Christmas this weekend. I am so very excited to be sharing in worship with you on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! I hope that everyone reading this knows they are most welcome to attend in-person or on zoom!

I look outside at this stormy weather and hear of the many health challenges people are dealing with this time of the year and I’m sure many of you are wondering about if or how our beloved Christmas magic will arrive this year. Perhaps this may be the year we are invited to encounter a very special truth about Christmas: that it arrives in the midst of challenge, isolation, the unexpected, and the ordinary. If your celebration feels humble and lowly, may the experience bring you even closer to Mary and Joseph welcoming Jesus’ arrival in that manger so many years ago.

Whether you are isolating at home, snowed in away from family, or still managing to make your holiday plans happen - I hope that you feel the arrival of Christ in your heart.

May the peace, hope, love, and joy of the season be with you,

Yours in Christ, Rev Michiko

PS: I read this blog last week and it resonated so strongly with me that I wanted to share - I have so much gratitude and appreciation for those of you I get a chance to be in community with and experience your dedication on a regular basis.
