Dear beloved Passing the Peace Readers,
Have you ever thought about the idea that Jesus was a homeless man? Surviving in the wilderness for 40 days, he then begins a ministry of travelling and gathering disciples without a home base. He relies on the hospitality of the friends and strangers he meets along the way. We live in a world where many people gather each week to worship a homeless man and yet attitudes and policies that address housing, poverty, and homelessness are ineffective, ignorant, and dehumanizing. How can this be?
We will be exploring this question and more during a 4 week worship series on Poverty, Homelessness, and Faith. The Faith Formation Committee, Outreach Committee, and some congregants have been working hard to prepare reflections on this topic from the local to global.

Wishing you all a blessed week!
May the Peace of Christ be with you,
Rev Michiko
