Dear Glen Morris United Church,
Peace be with you. I hope you are enjoying this Lent’s theme of Bless Break Share and the accompanying resources. I had a moment earlier this week when I went for a walk in the FWR Dickson Wilderness Area to visit the birds. I brought some seeds and placed them near the trees and heard a voice in the back of my head say “The table has been set, come and eat!” At first, I laughed to myself but as the birds (and squirrels) slowly came to feast I realized that this was in fact a beautiful moment of me communing with nature - a whole different kind of communion but spiritually nourishing in its own way.
It made me think about the many ‘tables’ the people of Glen Morris set for the birds in your backyards, the deer passing through your front lawns, and the pollinators buzzing in your gardens. What a beautiful way to bless, break, and share!
This week the Moderator is back in the kitchen - this time reflecting with a former colleague of mine, Aaron, who shares some really beautiful insights about cooking with offal and God’s economy:

Let’s set a table together! I’m looking for your help to decorate the sanctuary for Lent!
Do you have a tablecloth, napkin, dish, or piece of cookware with a story? Please bring the item to church this week. Each week during worship I will be inviting a few people to share about the item they have brought.
Don’t forget: PIE Day after church this Sunday. See below in the newsletter for more details.
Also, don’t forget: Daylight Savings Time! We will be ‘springing’ one hour ahead this Sunday.
Yours in Christ,
Rev Michiko
