A message from Tim Brown:
May is Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Awareness Month, shining a light on PSP and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD)—two rare, terminal neurodegenerative diseases that fall under the umbrella of Atypical Parkinsonism disorders. These conditions often mirror the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and are frequently misdiagnosed early on, as no clinically proven tool has existed to distinguish between them.
Thankfully, that is changing. Change begins with awareness. Awareness fosters understanding. Understanding leads to support, which drives research—and that’s where we all can help! In 2015, I wanted to find a simple, joyful way for people to participate in raising awareness for PSP and CBD. The result? The Ice Cream Challenge! A tasty tradition where everyone can get involved by posting pictures of themselves, their families, friends, or colleagues enjoying their favorite frozen treat on social media.

Over the years, members of Glen Morris United Church—near and far—have enthusiastically joined in, making this event a true community celebration. Now in its tenth year, the PSP & CBD Ice Cream Challenge has grown exponentially, reaching more people than ever through Facebook and beyond.
As the founder, I’ve taken great joy in creating new ice cream presentations each year. In recent years, I’ve even started crafting my own artisan ice creams, which are being developed for commercial production under my brand, Timtations Exceptional Artisan Inspired Ice Cream - A Super Premium Plus Gourmet Ice Cream.
The PSP & CBD Ice Cream Challenge runs all month long in May, and we’d love to see you take part! Post your pictures on the Facebook PSP & CBD Ice Cream Challenge page, Instagram, X, or any other social media platform.
