Dear Glen Morris United Church,

Peace be with you! As I write this letter I am mindful that there are those of you who are dealing with isolation and boredom and for whom this letter is a reminder that you are not alone and you have not been forgotten. I am also mindful that there are those of you who are reading this newsletter as one more piece of information to wrap your mind around as you struggle to figure out how best to keep you and your loved ones safe.

For all of you who are reading this, thank you for taking the time to stay in touch - I miss coffee hour, and house visits, and potlucks and I appreciate you being here.

Thank you all for your ongoing patience as we continue to solve tech issues relating to our livestream. It’s really heartwarming to know you are joining us for worship! Last week while I was preaching about the challenges of re-opening the church, the livestream crashed which felt ironic or perhaps perfectly fitting. I ended up recording the sermon later on the front steps of the church which you can watch here

Don’t Forget!

1. This week is our Anniversary Sunday - more details available in the Events section of the website. It’s amazing to think of how much history can be held by one building and one community and it will be wonderful to celebrate.

2. I am going to be away on a Study Leave from September 28 until October 4.

3. You are a beloved child of God.

Enjoying the Gift of Music

Thank you to Windermere United Church for sharing this beautiful music! A prayer for justice and inclusion sung with incredible talent.

God will delight when we are creators of justice and joy, compassion and peace: yes, God will delight when we are creators of justice, justice and joy!

Yours in Christ,

Michiko
