Pride Sunday at Glen Morris

A most beautiful and meaningful Pride Sunday Worship & Celebration was held at Glen Morris United Church on Sunday, June 1, 2025, with all joining in the word, music and liturgy that was so thoughtfully created by Rev. Michiko Bown-Kai. During these difficult times for so many of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, it was wonderful to all ‘come to the table’ as welcomed, accepted and loved children of God. With fabulous rainbow themed décor by Joy Hancock, including a balloon Photo Booth, the celebratory spirit was evident and all enjoyed Sue Harkness’  delicious rainbow cake. Michiko’s parents Marly Bown and David Kai were also in attendance, which made the congregational singing of ‘We are a Rainbow’, which was composed by David, even more special. With local dignitaries in attendance and many ‘new faces’ to this faith family joining in, a ‘bring your own picnic lunch’ was enjoyed on the manse lawn to conclude a wonderful day.
