STRENGTH. AGILITY. FLEXIBILITY. ENDURANCE/EDUCATION.

Established in 2012, S.A.F.E. ZONE is a Falls Prevention Exercise Program developed for the aging population/seniors of Brantford and Brant County, and now it is coming to Glen Morris!

This free program is specifically designed to help ensure long term mobility, independence and safety in the home.

Join certified instructors each Friday, beginning May 1st, at Centennial Hall, Dunbar Street,  Glen Morris, 11:00am-12:00pm. No registration is necessary and no committment to attend every class. Simply come when you can, bring a small ball, a stretch band and light weights along with you. Please bring indoor running shoes as well.

Jan Norris, creator of S.A.F.E. ZONE, says  "I was driven by the need to provide older adults with a supportive, inclusive and judgement-free environment where they can remain healthy, build confidence and improve their overall well-being.  Many seniors face barriers such as fear of injury, isolation or lack of programs, S.A.F.E. ZONE was designed to remove those obstacles and offer accessible and safe fitness opportunities.  The importance of S.A.F.E. ZONE goes beyond the physical, it promotes mental wellness, independence and a sense of belonging.  Though this program I have not only seen participants improve their mobility and decrease their risk of falls, but have witnessed the building of meaningful relationships based on trust, encouragement and shared experiences.  Watching these connections grow has been extremely rewarding, and reinforces the value of community and how impactful a safe, welcoming space can be in enhancing a healthy quality of life for our seniors."
