The Glen Morris Community BBQ was once again a great success, with perfect weather and a crowd of well over 100 people gathering at Centennial Hall on Sunday, August 10, to enjoy a wonderful evening together. The Glen Morris Lions Club kept the grills busy, serving up plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages. The Glen Morris Horticultural Society provided a delicious selection of salads and desserts, while Glen Morris United Church organized a variety of fun activities for the kids, led by Sue Harkness.
The evening also featured presentations from several community leaders and local organizations, including Mayor David Bailey, County Councillors John McAlpine and Jennifer Kyle, Cindy Briand of the Glen Morris Horticultural Society, Ingrid Douglas and Adrian Crawford of Safe Zone, Emily Kyle of Brant for Nature and Janice Little of Glen Morris United Church.
The evening ended with plenty of smiles, laughter and conversations that continued well into the parking lot. The BBQ was a wonderful opportunity for neighbours to reconnect, enjoy good food and celebrate the strong sense of community that makes Glen Morris such a special place. Thanks to all the many volunteers who make this such a wonderful community event!
