In the spirit of the 2021 World Day of Prayer theme, “Build on a Strong Foundation,” the Glen Morris United Church women will lead us in worship on Sunday, March 7th. The World Day of Prayer is traditionally celebrated on the first Friday of March, however communities can choose other dates. This event is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women and brings people of many traditions together to observe a common day in prayer and action for peace and justice. Each year, a different host country prepares the content, highlighting its culture and regional justice issues. Vanuatu, meaning ‘country that stands up’, is a Y shaped collection of over 80 islands in the South Pacific Ocean and is the host country of the World Day of Prayer 2021. This wonderful video “Introducing Vanuatu”, will give you more information about this beautiful country and its people.
