Our Reopening Plan

A message from Robert Williams, Chair of the Official Board about Glen Morris United Church Reopening.

I would like to provide this report from our Reopening Committee that was presented to the Official Board last Thursday, March 18, 2021. The Board was supportive of the recommendation to hopefully reopen our church on September 1, 2021.

A meeting of the Reopening Committee was held on March 16 on Zoom. It was unanimously decided that in light of the persistent high number of new Covid19 cases; the increasing number of variant virus cases in the province; and the slow implementation of immunizations, the church should remain closed until September 1, 2021. It is most likely we would continue Zoom services until that date, however outdoor services during the summer season may prove possible, provincial restrictions permitting. Our committee realizes this decision is disappointing, however it maintains our focus on keeping all of our congregation safe and healthy. It also takes into account the fact that our present Zoom services have been well received with excellent attendance.
